This morning started out with a bang.  I was working uphill where I have a few trees planted.  I was weedeating near the chain link fence.  There are a row of pines along the fence.  As I was weedeating around one of the pines, I heard a buzzing noise.  So I instinctively swatted at it.  I thought I swatted a bee.  It turns out that I swatted a wasp and he wasn’t happy with me.  He stung me and gathered a posse of his friends.  Soon I was surrounded by buzzing wasps!  I took the weedeater and placed the spinning line near my face to detract all the wasps away from me.  I ran toward my van and jumped in.  As I drove away, I noticed two or three wasps had followed me into the van.  I opened the window and try to swat them out.  By the time I got home, my face was killing me.  I was stung 5 times.  Once on each arm, once above each eye and once on my right ear.  I was stung over 8 hours ago and it still hurts.  Other than the excitement of the morning, I had two bonsai customers.  Both came at around noon.  One bought a beautiful triple trunk San Jose juniper that my father had shaped.  The other customer said he wanted a Yaupon Holly.  He looked at all the yaupon hollys.  He also picked up a 5 gallon rosemary, a 5 gallon cotoneaster and a 6 gallon boxwood. He’s a great customer that drives up from the San Fernando valley to visit the nursery.  That’s dedication!  Now I get my chance to eat and unwind.  What a day!!!!
