Time to Recharge
July 3, 2009 12:05 am 1 CommentI will be going to Las Vegas for the 4th of July week and will be there for a week. Somebody had to do it. Actually my in laws live in Vegas and we got a good deal on a hotel. I have been going crazy with work. I have been to over a half dozen houses and pruning landscape pines with my father. Most of these trees are large and to make things a challenge, very few are planted on a flat surface. Today we went to a house where the trees are planted in the backyard in a corner of her yard. Both trees are right against a fence, on a mound. To make things worse, the fence is quite flimsy and we cannot use it for support. If we leaned on the fence, we would be in trouble because on the other side of the fence is a shear drop of over 30 ft into the neighbors yard. We contorted our bodies and climbed the trees and used the ladders where we could. I think we need combat pay. We also finished pruning the 2000 black pines that are growing in the field. I have also had quite a few customers come by this week. I will go to Vegas, sit by the pool and recharge. Just as bonsai’s need to be worked, they also need time to recover. After all the pruning, wiring and fertilizer, trees need some time off. When you leave the tree alone, it can adjust to all the work you did on the tree. Well I think I will get some rest so that I can make a final push at work on Friday before my long drive to freedom. I will come back with a renewed commitment and focus on my bonsai business. See you all in a week.
